If we were having coffee, we’d be sitting in my house looking out at the sunlit world groggily making conversation. I’ve been extremely lazy and apathetic this week, so most of the things on my To-Do list have gone undone. In fact, I almost didn’t join the coffee share this week out of pure laziness. But I made it and am glad to see you.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you all about the wedding I went to this weekend! I’ve known the bride for four years. We met when I stayed at her house while on day camp assignment during my first year as a camp counselor. While there, I learned that she was going to be a freshman at my college. A month later, my roommate and I started a Bible study and I invited her to come. She did and, over the next few years, we became friends. We even co-lead the group during my final year of school.
The ceremony took place outdoors and it rained the entire time. Despite huddling under umbrellas, tarps, and plastic garbage bags, we all got soaked. In addition, the ceremony was bilingual (the groom is from Chile) and took twice as long. It was a bit miserable and I felt pretty bad (who wants it to rain on their wedding day?) but the bride and groom were a good sport and laughed through the whole thing. After all, they were just happy to be getting married.
The best thing about this wedding was getting to see college friends–mostly girls from Bible study. It was so much fun catching up with everyone, seeing where life is taking them, and exchanging morbid cat stories. (Don’t ask). We also spent a few minutes discussing health care, which made us feel really old and got weird looks from the other girls at our table. We had a good time taking funny pictures in the photo booth and busting a move on the dance floor.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I start training for my new job tomorrow! I’m really looking forward to it. I know that there will be a lot to learn and that things will most likely be stressful, but I’m thankful to finally be taking steps forward. Plus, this new job could be just the thing to knock me out of my apathetic lazy phase.
Time to switch things off to you. What would you share over coffee?

Good luck with your new job 🙂
Thank you!’ 🙂
The wedding sounds fun and wet! My brother-in-law and his wife were married in an outdoor ceremony and it drizzled the entire time! Luckily the downpour didn’t start till we were all tucked safely inside the reception. Good luck with your new job and thanks for the coffee!
That sounds like a fun wedding despite the weather. Glad the bride and groom and all of you had a great time. Good luck on your first day at work!
Good luck on training for your new job! Sending you love from the #weekendcoffeeshare
