If we were having coffee, I’d be smiling sleepily at you while clutching a steaming cup of tea. My hair would be messy because it’s winter hat season and you’d be casting jealous glances at my snuggly-soft Harry Potter spells sweatshirt (courtesy of Etsy).
We’ve been enjoying an uncommonly beautiful November–weeks of sunshine and light jackets. Well… it was fun while it lasted.
Minnesota winter is a funny thing. It sneaks up on you. One day, you’re eating lunch outside and, the next, you’re in the middle of a blizzard. We had our first big storm yesterday. I drove my usual hour to work in the pouring rain and thunder. Around noon, the rain gave way to snowflakes. By the time I left, the ground was coated in half a foot of snow. The roads were terrible, but I thankfully didn’t have far to go–I have an uncle living in the next town over and stayed with him for the night.
I do enjoy winter, but it’s a bit painful to think about icy roads and cold fingers for the next six months.
It’s been a weird week at work. We had an author talk on Thursday night, which meant I had to work late. The event was on historic railroad depots and I really enjoyed it. Because of it, though, I reconfigured my hours for the week and every day has been slightly off. That plus the snow storm has really messed up my head. I’m so glad that it’s finally the weekend!
On a final note, have you seen Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them yet? I’ve been anticipating this movie for over a year now and I am so excited it is finally here! I hope to get out to see it at some point in the next few days. I would have lined up for a midnight premiere, but having a job makes those a thing of the past. Still, I’m wearing my Harry Potter spells sweatshirt to celebrate!
That just about wraps up my week… how has yours been? What would you share over coffee?

I would probably be really jealous of that sweatshirt. Can’t wait to see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them as well. I would have gone alone if only my friend and I had not agreed to watch together. Haha!
I had the chance to see it today–as the title says, it was truly fantastic!!! I hope you get to see it soon! 🙂
I’m not ready for snow and icy roads. I haven’t seen Fantastic Beasts yet but I can’t wait to.
I got to see it this afternoon–it was soooooo good!! Hope you’re able to see it soon! 🙂
